KIT FEATURES

Deep Vision Starter Kits are built for OEMs to streamline the onboarding process of the components of a modern AI accelerated vision platform. The kits are based on Hailo-8™ M.2 module, NXP i.MX 8M Plus on SMARC SoM and an industrial-grade carrier from Engicam.

 

3 kit variants are available: Basic, MonoCam and StereoCam Kit.

Deep Vision Starter Kit with NXP i.MX 8M Plus and Hailo Hailo-8 AI accelerator

Deep Vision Starter Kits are based on Linux Yocto and include the Deep Vision Jumpstart Code, a source code repository with all the fundamental software elements of a vision project with accelerated AI:

  • Grabbing video with Gstreamer from UVC cameras

  • Trigger GPIO signal for camera sync

  • Gstreamer video enc/dec via NXP i.MX 8M Plus VPU

  • AI acceleration on Hailo-8™

  • AI acceleration on NXP i.MX 8M Plus NPU

  • Vision pre and post processing via OpenCV

With Deep Vision Starter Kits, the OEM is equipped with all what it takes to kickstart a vision project in minutes. Once prototyping is over, and design for production gets underway, the OEM can use Hailo-8™ M.2 module, NXP i.MX 8M Plus SoM and carrier as-is or re-design the electronics to better adapt to the technical, size and cost requirements.

GStreamer pipeline using NPU and VPU from i.MX 8M Plus and Hailo-8 acceleration. Semantic segmentation and object detection networks are part of the model zoos from Hailo and NXP respectively. The whole source code to reproduce this result is part of the Jumpstart Code
